Department of Civil Engineering successfully conducted a Survey Camp for 3rd-year students of diploma in Civil Engineering. This event was organised from 4 August 2019 to 9 August 2019 as a compulsory part of the UBTER academic curriculum.
This camp aimed at building an essential knowledge base among the students and expose them to the real work. Through this camp, students acquired leadership qualities and teamwork skills, which would help them throughout their lives. In addition to this, Survey Camp helped students in learning the following things in a highly effective and efficient manner.
· To take field observations about some of the real-world problems such as triangulation, contouring, etc.
· To solve all related calculations for preparation of the required maps and determine the coordinates of a few triangulation stations.
· To prepare a contour map of an area by using block contouring method.
· To make contour map of a hilly terrain by radial. contouring method.
