Dr Partha Pratim Roy from IIT Roorkee visited the campus of Quantum University and delivered an insightful guest lecture in which he shared his invaluable expertise of the subject and rich practical experience with the Q-mates. Students of BTech (CSE) attended the lecture and gained a wealth of knowledge from it. The event began with an auspicious lamp lightening ceremony and then the organising coordinator, Dr Chandani Sharma warmly welcomed Dr Partha Pratim Roy with her compassionate words and gave a brief introduction about him.
Q-mates were really excited to attend the lecture of such a renowned personality. Dr Partha Pratim Roy began by explaining the opportunities lying in the field of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning and how to approach the vast curriculum and gain the maximum value out of it. He also paid due emphasis on the research activities and asked students to explore the domain.
Dr Partha Pratim Roy began his lecture by saying, “Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning are the backbones of modern simulation of systems designed artificially or through humans”. He continued and taught students various basic and advanced concepts of the subject. He made students learn the basic difference between Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning.
Afterwards, he delivered an informative presentation on the process of development of the machine learning program. He further discussed the applications like Character Recognition, Video Surveillance, etc. In the end, the house was opened to questions, where Q-mates asked several doubts, which were efficiently answered by Dr Partha Pratim Roy. The lecture was very informative and concluded with a Vote of Thanks delivered by Dr Gulshan Chauhan, Dean of Quantum School of Technology.
