Mr Triveni Prasad Nanda and Mr Yogesh, RICS, Amity University, delivered a guest lecture on Future of Quantity Surveyor. More than 70 students of Civil Engineering along with 7 faculty members attended this guest lecture.
In the lecture, Mr Triveni Prasad discussed the services that a Quantity Surveyor normally provides on a construction project such as preliminary cost advice, cost planning, advice on contract procedures and types of contract, advise on methods of obtaining tenders, advice on procedures for selecting contractors and periodic financial statements. Later on, he explained various stages involved in project planning and execution. Mr Yogesh moved the lecture to a PowerPoint presentation, where he explained challenges faced and the future in quantity surveying profession.
Overall it was a knowledgeable and delightful experience for the students. Dr Gulshan Chauhan, Dean of Quantum School of Technology gave the concluding remarks and thanked Mr Triveni Prasad Nanda and Mr Yogesh for sparing their valuable time and delivering such an insightful lecture for students. In the end, Dr Gulshan Chauhan presented a memento and certificate of appreciation to the guest speaker on behalf of the department.
