“Innovations in Science & Technology: Advancing Sustainability, Safety, and National Development”
Celebrating Science, Shaping the Future
The Kalp Science Society, in collaboration with the Institution’s Innovation Council (Ministry of HRD, Govt. of India), proudly celebrated National Science Day 2025 on February 28. Staying true to tradition, this year’s celebration was bigger, brighter, and bolder, centered around the thought-provoking theme:
“Innovations in Science & Technology: Advancing Sustainability, Safety, and National Development.”
Held offline on campus, the program was a powerhouse of knowledge-sharing, showcasing creativity, critical thinking, and scientific passion through a combination of a motivational lecture and a dynamic Science Parlour exhibition and competition.

Science Parlour: A Universe of Innovation
With the participation of over 150 enthusiastic students from diverse departments, the Science Parlour turned into a buzzing hub of ingenuity. The exhibits were not only eye-catching but also thought-provoking, highlighting emerging themes such as:
- Science & Technology with AIML
- Human Safety Measures
- Sustainable & Green Resources
- Significant Scientific Discoveries
- National Safety & Security
A total of 34 students passionately displayed their work through 3 Scientific Working Models, 20 Posters, and 2 Science-Based Puzzles. These exhibits reflected months of dedication and curiosity, and sparked meaningful conversations among peers and faculty alike.
“Creativity meets critical thinking – a perfect blend of science and imagination!”
To ensure an unbiased judgment, faculty members from outside the Department of Sciences evaluated the entries. The most impactful and innovative contributors were honored with awards, recognizing their commitment to science and its real-world applications.
A Talk to Remember: Dr. Soumitra Maiti’s Motivational Lecture
A major highlight of the event was the insightful and inspiring motivational lecture by Dr. Soumitra Maiti, Principal Scientist at CSIR-CBRI Roorkee. Speaking on the topic “Waste to Wealth: Science-Driven Innovations for a Sustainable Future,” Dr. Maiti captivated the audience with real-world examples of how scientific innovation can solve environmental and economic challenges.
“Science is not just about discovery—it’s about using innovation to build a better, safer, and more sustainable future,” he emphasized.
His interactive session left a lasting impression on both students and faculty, encouraging them to pursue research-oriented careers and think beyond the classroom.
