The IEEE Student Branch, Quantum University, celebrated IEEE Day on Tuesday, 5th October 2021, with great zeal. The IEEE Day’s theme for 2021 was “Leveraging Technology for a Better Tomorrow.”
On the occasion of IEEE Day, the IEEE Student Branch at Quantum University organized a Guest Lecture on “Human Computer Interface.” The Speaker was Dr. Tanupriya Choudhury, Associate Professor from the University of Petroleum and Energy Studies (UPES) Dehradun. He gave an elaborate presentation about different ongoing research work in the area of Human Computer interfaces. The expert kept his focus on explaining the various aspects and applications of the Brain Computer Interface (BCI).
Two competitive events were also conducted on the occasion. The first one was a tech talk on “Use of Technology in Social Movement” and “Smart Cities Mission: Benefits and Challenges.” Anjali Srivastava and Rohan Deb Mondal was the winner and runner-up respectively.
The second one was an essay writing competition on “Protecting Yourself in the Digital World” and “Is India Ready for 5G?.” Bhumi Rana and Sudarshona was the winner and runner-up respectively.
The students came to know about the different trending technologies and got new ideas from the IEEE Day.
In India, the IEEE Day is celebrated on the first Tuesday of October every year. It is celebrated to support professionals in the field and aid them in their efforts to apply innovation for the betterment of humanity.
