The Department of Pharmacy, School of Health Sciences, Quantum University organized a Guest Lecture on the topic – “Overview of New Opportunities in Healthcare: The Pharma Perspective” on the World Pharmacist Day on 25th September 2021.
The Guest Speaker was Dr. Devesh Kumar Joshi from Dr. Reddy’s Laboratories. Dr. Reddy’s Laboratories is an Indian multinational pharmaceutical company located in Hyderabad, Telangana. The company has over 190 medications, 60 active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs) for drug manufacture, diagnostic kits, critical care, and biotechnology products.
The Speaker talked elaborately about exciting developments in Pharma industry, new opportunities for entrepreneurs and key pharmaceutical roles including the role of a Pharmacist in health care system.
The audience came to know about Artificial Intelligence in the manufacturing process for higher productivity, improved efficiency, and faster production of life-saving drugs. The students also learned about various aspects of drug development process.
