International Women’s Day is celebrated every year on March 8 to recognise the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women. Each year, Quantum University use this opportunity to motivate, inspire, and celebrate women in our communities. This year also the day was celebrated with enthusiasm and zeal. Ms Namami Bansal, Joint Magistrate of Haridwar district was the Guest of Honour of the event.
Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor Prof (Dr.) Vivek Kumar inaugurated the function by lighting the lamp & extended a word of encouragement for girls. He introduced the guest to the audience and highlighted the role & importance of women in our society and also emphasized on women empowerment. Later on, a documentary named #SheforHer was shown to the audience which was very much appreciated by all. The celebration continued and the stage was taken by the Guest of Honour who inspired the audience with her motivating words and said, “Self-belief is the most important thing in every person’s life. I am very much inspired by the documentary as this is very necessary that women should not be the enemy of women but a supporter of her.”
The event continued with a group song and poetic drama performed by the Q-Encore Club of the university. Later on, Ms Saloni Arora, Co-ordinator of Health Sciences presented a Power-Point presentation and threw ample light on the health issues and problems dealt by women. In her address, Ms N. Murgulata shared an inspirational story of Padma Shree Awardee Kalpana Saroj, an Indian entrepreneur. The event ended with a beautiful dance performance of the Cultural Group.
The program truly turned out to be an inspiring element to the women folks of the University.
