A three-day-long workshop on fabrication techniques & industrial safety was organised at Ambuja Cement Foundation, Bhagwanpur. 3rd- year students of Diploma in Mechanical Engineering attended this workshop and practised what they have been learning in their classroom. This workshop took place under the guidance and supervision of Mr M. Kannan.
On the very first day of the workshop, Mr Atul Rajput from Ambuja Cement Foundation conducted a briefing session with the students, where he explained to students the working of the company. Post- lunch, students were introduced to various industrial safety measures. In addition to this, students were exposed to the basic industrial terms like demand and supply, land, labour, capital and investment.
On the second day, industrial experts taught students the basics of fabrications. Post-lunch students prepared V butt using a plain file. At the third day, students learnt about the cutting of workpiece using the grinder. Later on, experts from Ambuja cement taught students how to prepare V butt by welding. Students also learnt about the fitter fabrication V butt joint deep penetration. This workshop proved to be a deep learning affair for the students as they got to practise what they had learnt through books. The practical implication of the theory learnt in classrooms filled students with a sense of fulfilment and joy.
