Quantum University, Roorkee, in collaboration with Amazon Web Service and ICT Academy celebrated Cloud Literacy Day by organising a workshop for IEEE branch students. The workshop was intended to introduce basic cloud technology skills to all students. This special event witnessed the presence of Mr Anand Babu and Mr Aditya on behalf of the ICT Academy. Dr Gulshan Chauhan, Prof. Satendra Kumar and Assistant Professor Jaspreet Shrivastava were present on behalf of the entire Quantum family.
Before this workshop, Amazon conducted an online examination, which had questions related to basic computer information. 300 students qualified this examination and became eligible to attend this workshop. Experts from the Amazon imparted invaluable knowledge to the Q-mates which was based upon web development and software development. In this workshop, professionals described cloud computing model and examples of infrastructure as a service. They informed students about the evaluation and assessment of
the benefits of cloud computing and cloud applications.
Speaking on the occasion, Prof Vivek Kumar, Vice-Chancellor of Quantum University, said, “As global cloud services market is growing at a very rapid pace, students must learn the cloud technology skills for making themselves at par with the global industrial standards. By attending such workshops Q-mates will develop various professional skills.” He further said that the work being conducted by Amazon in Uttarakhand state is a unique initiative which would highly benefit all the students.
