An industrial visit to Indian Institute of Petroleum (IIP), Dehradun was organised for the 2nd, 3rd and 4th-year students of B.Tech in Petroleum Engineering students. The Indian Institute of Petroleum (IIP) is one of the constituent laboratories of the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR), dedicated to research and development in the hydrocarbon sector. Students were welcomed by the authorities when they reached IIP.
The visit began with an introductory session where students were given information about the brief history and objectives of Indian Institution of Petroleum. Along with the faculty members, students were taken on a comprehensive tour around the institution. In this visit, students were exposed to the distillation process of crude oil (from different states of our country) and instruments used for distillation of crude oil. In the last lap, students met renowned senior scientists who gave invaluable information regarding fuels used in the jet planes and all fighter planes. Q-mates enjoyed this visit and gained a huge wealth of knowledge from it. Such visits form a part of the curriculum at Quantum University.
