Quantum University organised an industrial visit to SEBI (Security Exchange Board of India), Dehradun for B.Com I year students. Forty-one Q-mates along with two faculty members formed a part of this trip. Q-mates left the campus at 9:00 am and reached the SEBI head office at 11:00 am. The officials warmly welcomed the Q-mates and gave an introductory session. The main objective of this visit was to enrich the knowledge and exposure of the students to the Capital market and various roles played by the SEBI. Through this visit, the university propelled the interactive learning to which it is committed since its inception.
At the beginning of the session, the students were given information about the brief history of SEBI and its working. Then, Mr Pradeep Kumar guided the students about investment and savings. He also explained why investment is better than savings. Furthermore, students were given information about Demat accounts and how to invest in the capital market. They were also given several tips on how to judge the future probability of market trends. At last, students were shown some videos to make them aware of several fraud schemes prevailing in the security market.
This visit proved very beneficial for the students as they gained enormous information about the SEBI. In the end, the interactive Questions and Answers session was conducted where students cleared all their doubts and got to speak their minds. SEBI officials listened to the queries of students and answered them in a highly efficient manner. Q-mates enjoyed this visit and prepared themselves for facing the challenges of the modern world.
