Q-mates visited an Agrometeorology Observatory which is located at Muzaffarabad, Saharanpur. The students were overwhelmed as they were going to attend the talk by a well-known scientist, Mr Sayam Ram. The visit began with a warm welcome of the students by the concerned authorities of the observatory, followed by an introductory session where students were introduced to the working of plant machinery and various operations.
Mr Sayam Ram shared his invaluable expertise with the students. He briefed students about the industry, observatory’s working and functioning of various machines. Students were also given practical knowledge about different instruments, including sunshine recorder, soil thermometer and rain gauge. Mr Sayam Ram told students about the weather changes and also highlighted the effects of climate change on agriculture and crop pattern. He also discussed the skills required to pursue a career in the agricultural sector. Overall, the visit proved to be extremely successful.
