Quantum School of Hospitality and Tourism, Quantum University, Roorkee organised a workshop on the need for effective communication skills in the hospitality business. This workshop was conducted by Mr D.C. Vashishth, Dean of School of Hospitality and Tourism. Mr D.C. Vashishth is having rich experience of more than 20 years in the industry, which he shared with the students. He used a descriptive presentation to share his invaluable expertise and gave several tips to students. He said, “hospitality industry needs to deal with a lot of people on a daily basis and it would be really difficult to provide exceptional services to the customers without good communication skills.” Mr D.C. Vashishth while sharing a few pictures of his professional life with the students highlighted the importance of body language and effective listening. Finally, he also apprised the students of the fact that hospitality is a highly demanding career with tough deadlines, requiring a lot of back end work and enough sweat.
