On September 25, 2024, the Department of Applied Medical Sciences organized a guest lecture titled “Living Well: Guide to Healthy Lifestyle as part of the “Poshan Maah” celebrations. Coordinated by Ms. Ishita Singh, the event was conducted in the presence of students from the Department of Applied Medical Sciences. The session, which lasted from 10:00 AM to 12:30 PM, featured Dr. Neetika Trivedi, Assistant Professor at Hindu Girls College, Jagadhari, as the keynote speaker.
Dr. Trivedi delivered an insightful lecture on the importance of maintaining a healthy lifestyle, covering essential topics such as balanced nutrition, regular physical activity, mental health, and preventive care. She emphasized the need to adopt sustainable health practices that can be maintained throughout life. Her presentation included the role of diet in promoting health, common misconceptions about nutrition, and the significance of micronutrients in preventing deficiencies.
The lecture also touched upon lifestyle-related diseases such as diabetes,
hypertension, and obesity, explaining how they can be managed and prevented through simple but effective changes in daily habits. Dr. Trivedi highlighted the importance of mental wellness, encouraging students to practice mindfulness, manage stress, and take care of their emotional well-being alongside physical health.
