Quantum University recently hosted a mesmerizing cultural event under the aegis of SPIC MACAY, celebrating the ancient art form of Gotipua dance. Originating from Orissa, this unique dance form has been performed for centuries by young boys dressed as females, who, through their graceful movements and elaborate makeup, invoke the divine presence of Lord Jagannath and Lord Krishna.
The event was an extraordinary showcase of tradition, where the audience witnessed the boys’ transformation into elegant dancers, adorned with intricate hairdos, garlands, and traditional face paintings.
The highlight of the performance was the “Bandha Nrutya,” a stunning display of acrobatic movements that left everyone spellbound. The Gotipua dance not only captivated the audience but also provided a deep insight into India’s rich cultural heritage, reflecting Quantum University’s commitment to promoting traditional arts and preserving age-old traditions.
This event was a part of Quantum University’s ongoing efforts to bring diverse cultural experiences to its students, nurturing a deep appreciation for the arts.
