The Department of Physics at Quantum University arranged an educational visit to the Regional Science Centre, (Vigyan Dham) Dehradun. The students had the opportunity to explore different sections of the Science Centre, including the Science park, planetarium, Himalaya gallery, 3D theatre, and exhibition hall. They engaged with interactive exhibits like the Whispering garden, birding cage, and perspective house, gaining insights into sound propagation, bird species, and optical illusions. The students delved into topics like cloud computing, robotics, carbon nanotubes, and graphene, with instructors providing detailed explanations to enhance their understanding.
The Himalayan gallery proved to be a significant highlight of the visit as it showcased a wide range of subjects related to the Himalayan region. The students learned about geology, geography, tourism, culture, and traditional knowledge associated with the Himalayas. The gallery offered a holistic view of the region, fostering an appreciation for its natural wonders and cultural heritage.
The educational visit was immensely beneficial to the students as the explanations provided by the instructors supplemented their existing knowledge and motivated them to popularize science.
