On March 25th, 2023, the Department of Humanities and Social Sciences (HSS) at Quantum University Roorkee organized an industrial visit for Psychology Discipline students to the Doon Psychotherapeutic Center in Dehradun. The primary aim of this visit was to provide students with an opportunity to understand the structure and functions of a psychotherapeutic center.
In addition to this, the visit also aimed to teach students about the diagnostic process and the identification of behavioral disorders, allowing them to contribute positively to human development. The students were given the chance to observe the center’s OPD, counseling, and diagnostic systems for disorders. The counselors at the center demonstrated various sessions to the students, providing them with valuable insights into the diagnostic and treatment processes.
During the visit, students learned about the DSM-V and ICD-10, which are critical diagnostic tools used in the field of psychology. Overall, the industrial visit was a valuable learning experience for the students, allowing them to gain hands-on knowledge of psychotherapy and its various practices.
