The Civil Engineering Department at Quantum University Roorkee organized a survey camp for students from 17th to 23rd February at Bhatta Gaon, 75 KM away from the university. The participation of 37 students and 4 faculty members in the camp shows the enthusiasm and dedication of the department toward providing hands-on learning experiences to students.
The main motive behind the survey camp was to expose the students to the practical aspects of civil engineering and make them familiar with the fieldwork. It is essential for civil engineering students to understand the difference between theoretical and practical work and the challenges that arise during fieldwork. The survey camp can provide an excellent opportunity for students to learn about these differences and challenges.
During the camp, the students had the opportunity to learn about different surveying techniques and equipment, as well as understood how to use them in the field. They learned about data collection and analysis, & how to interpret and present the survey results. The camp also included team-building activities, which helped students to develop their leadership and communication skills.
Overall, the survey camp was an enriching and valuable experience for civil engineering students. It helped them to develop a deeper understanding of the practical aspects of their field and prepare for the challenges they may face in their future careers.
