Migration is a major issue in India. The current net migration rate for India in 2022 is -0.342 per 1000 population. According to the Ministry of External Affairs report, there are 32 million NRIs and OCIs residing outside India and overseas. India comprises the world’s largest overseas diasporas. This migration hampers the development of the country.
Focusing on the same to promote International Migration Day (18th December), the Department of Humanities and Social Sciences (Economics) Quantum University is organizing a Guest Lecture on the theme “Migration and Development: Reflection on the Migrants’ existence crises in India” on 17th December.
