The Electrical Engineering and Mechanical Engineering Department of Quantum University Roorkee organized a One-Day Workshop on “Green Energy” for its students. The workshop was led by the guest speakers of the day, Er. Rajiv Sharma, Er Harikrisna and Er. Simit Katariya who elaborated on the capacities of green energy and sustainable city planning that includes green and renewable energy options, challenges, and opportunities for applying sustainability concepts in an economic, social, and environmental context.
The lecture focused on green transportation policies and planning, green infrastructure development, green and renewable energy, waste-to-energy, waste management, electric vehicles, power supply using biomass, and wastewater management. The workshop was highly dynamic on “Renewable Energy” which enabled participants to explore in-depth knowledge related to green energy.
At the end of the workshop, the students visited the 110KW solar power plant of Quantum University, where they learned its functioning. The solar plant at Quantum is endowed with advanced technology & environment-friendly features. The workshop was fruitful for the students as they availed the opportunity to witness how the solar power plant works.
