Quantum School of Technology, Quantum University, Roorkee had organized a Guest Lecture on “Innovative Trends in Cyber Security & Threats” on 26th February 2022. The event was led by Dr. Chandani Sharma, Asst. Prof. Quantum University, who welcomed the Guest Speaker Dr. Mohammad Shuaib Khan, Asst. Prof, CSE, Chandigarh University.
It was an insightful session where more than 60 students participated. Dr. Mohammad Shuaib Khan threw light upon the topic and informed the students about the top 10 threats that can turn problematic if not controlled timely. Cyber or Cyber Security threat is a malicious act that seeks to damage data, steal data, or disrupt digital life in general. Cyber threats include computer viruses, data breaches, Denial of Service (DoS) attacks, and other attack vectors. The speaker explained what are the popular threats like Malware, Phishing, Man in the middle attack that are carried out, and what are the different options for maintaining a strong password. Live interaction was carried out which also included question answers sessions related to mobile and site hacking.
The Cyber Security session was indeed great learning for all the students.
