An educational visit to FRI Dehradun was conducted by the Department of Agricultural Studies of Quantum University for the BSc Agriculture 1st year students under the supervision of Dr. Aditya Lama and Mrs. Pooja Barthwal. The students left for their destination at 9:30 am and reached FRI on time where they started exploring the place with excitement.
BSc Agriculture students got the opportunity to visit and explore different forestry-related major museums in FRI like Silvicultural, Pathological, Timber, Social forestry, Non-wood forest, and Entomology museums. FRI is a must-go-to place, especially for the students of agriculture as it’s an institute to study various forest-related courses from graduation to Ph.D.
Students witnessed a collection of more than 3000 stages of insects and pets. They saw a collection of various models and photographs of types of forest. They go to learn 126 kinds of wood and their uses. and also saw a collection of forest products like edible products, essential oil, spices, drugs, tan, gums, etc. The students of agriculture witnessed the models and photographs on the Silviculture system. The industrial visit was fruitful and erudite for the agriculture students as they acquired knowledge on the importance of forest and its aspects.
