Quantum University organized an orientation program for new admissions of the 2021 batch of various departments. Starting on 3rd October, the orientation program concluded on 17th October. The program apprised the students about the pedagogy, departmental activities, laboratories, co-curricular activities, bridge courses, internships & placements.
The fifteen days long orientation program saw the participation of 1200 students. Taking care of Covid-19 guidelines, the commencement of the program was marked by a welcome speech by the Director Business, Dr. Rakesh Premi, who familiarised the students with the rules and regulations of the University. The Vice-Chancellor, Dr. Vivek Kumar, also gave a warm welcome to the new entrants.
On Day 1 of the Induction Program, HOD’s of various programs introduced themselves to the students, followed by the faculty members. A presentation video on the University was shown to the freshers to motivate them towards their dream career. The students were divided into groups for the game sessions like Guess the Picture, Dum Shards, Puzzles & Quiz Challenge so that new students could get familiar with their seniors and faculty members.
Day 2 started with leadership sessions where dignitaries from various job profiles were invited for a live interactive session. Personalities from Management, Industry, Journalism, Technology, Agriculture were invited as guest speakers who shared their experiences.
Former Media Professional at Discovery Channel, Mr. Rahul Sakia, was the Guest of Honour. The guest sessions continued till Day 7, where students got the opportunity to learn from their journey of experiences. Question & Answer sessions were also there to reply to students’ queries.
Day 9 commenced with an interactive session with faculties and mentors of different departments. Till Day 11, other sessions took place that engaged the new admissions in various activities. Amidst the entire orientation program sessions, students came up on stage and introduced themselves one by one.
Day 12 started with an Alumni session where students of the previous batches were invited to share their experiences and advice to the new Q-mates. After this session, an announcement was made for an audition in various activity clubs of the University. Interested students gave the auditions in Theatre Club, Sports Club, Cultural Club, Mechanical Club, Music & Dance Club accordingly. HODs of different departments took the students to their respective classrooms and labs for brief discussions. Day 13 & 14 were relaxing days for the new entrants as they got a chance to showcase their talent & walk around the campus.
On the last day of the Orientation Program, the freshers were invited for a Rock Climbing Session at the climbing wall on campus to enjoy & explore the thrill of adventure. The program’s final phase concluded with tea and refreshments and group photographs of students, faculty members, and the staff.
