Quantum School of Technology organised an online seminar on the scope of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning. Over a hundred students and faculty members participated in the seminar. Mr Prabhakaran Chandran, a renowned scientist from Mu Sigma, Bengaluru and Dr Pranjal Phukan, Director of International Council of Technology, Management & Applied Engineering were the main speakers of the event.
Mr Prabhakaran Chandran began his presentation with the basics of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning. He explained that Machine learning is a method of data analysis that automates analytical model building. It is a branch of artificial intelligence based on the idea that systems can learn from data, identify patterns and make decisions with minimal human intervention. Later on, his presentation moved to the advanced concepts and ongoing researches being conducted in the field. After him, Dr Pranjal Phukan took the stage and explained several applications of AI and ML in today’s society. He explained that the form of AI where programs are developed to perform specific tasks is being utilized for a wide range of activities including medical diagnosis, electronic trading platforms, robot control, and remote sensing. He further highlighted the usage of AI in numerous fields and industries, including finance, healthcare, education, transportation, and more.
The seminar ended with a vote of thanks delivered by Dr Chandani Sharma. The entire seminar was very interactive and would be cherished for a long time to come.
