On 12 February 2020, Prof. Partha Pratim Roy delivered a guest lecture on the topic, ‘Recent Trends on Machine Learning.’ The guest lecture was for students of Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering and Civil Engineering.
Prof. Partha Pratim Roy began his lecture with a PowerPoint presentation by which he explained intricacies of machine learning algorithms in a very lucid way. In addition to this, he covered many verticals of the subjects like Speech Recognition, Image Recognition, Autonomous Driving Vehicle, Sign Language, Optical Character Recognition Scanner, Video Surveillance, Indic Script Recognition and Medical Image Processing.
In the end, the house was opened to questions, where Q-mates asked several doubts, which were efficiently answered by Prof. Partha Pratim Roy. The lecture proved out to be immensely beneficial and educating for the students. In the valedictory session, Dr Gulshan Chauhan, Dean, Faculty of Technology, thanked Prof. Partha Pratim Roy for such an enriching lecture. In the end, Dr Gulshan Chauhan presented a memento and certificate of appreciation to the guest speaker on behalf of the department.
