Roorkee, 31st May 2025 – In a powerful demonstration of its commitment to student well-being, public health, and social responsibility, Quantum University observed World No Tobacco Day 2025 with an inspiring campus-wide event. Organized in collaboration with the District National Tobacco Control Program (NTCP) Team, Haridwar, the event brought together students, educators, medical professionals, legal experts, law enforcement authorities, and community leaders with one shared goal — a tobacco-free society.
A Movement Rooted in Awareness and Action
The event was graced by Smt. Mamta Rakesh, Hon’ble Member of the Uttarakhand Legislative Assembly, served as the Chief Guest. In her heartfelt address, she applauded the efforts of the youth and the university, encouraging students to be changemakers and lead India toward a healthier future.
Her words resonated deeply with the audience, reinforcing the importance of grassroots awareness campaigns and youth-driven initiatives in the battle against tobacco addiction.

Adding emotional depth and creativity to the occasion, student bodies — Pahal – Ek Nanha Kadam, Navjeevan Health Club, and the National Service Scheme (NSS) — staged street plays, showcased awareness posters, and designed interactive installations.
One of the most impactful moments of the event was the symbolic breaking of a cigarette, representing the collective resolve of the university community to reject addiction and embrace health.
