Q Dazzle - Talent fest at Quantum

The one day cultural extravaganza – Q Dazzle was hosted by the Quantum School of Business at Quantum University. The function showcased the talent of students from over 60 colleges in Uttarakhand and Uttar Pradesh. The students participated in different categories which included solo dance, group dance, quiz competition and fashion show. The proceedings started with the ‘lamp lighting’ by Prof. Rohit Kushwaha, the director of the institute. This was followed by the vandana of Goddess Saraswati. A number of signatories, students and faculty members witnessed the event.

The Quiz competition inaugurated the function. A total of 18 teams, with two members in each team, participated in the Quiz. The quiz consisted of five rounds. The quiz questions ranged over spheres like politics, commerce, sports and entertainment.

The quiz was won by two Quantum students - Simran Giri and Richa Bhushan. The second place was also captured by Quantum University with the winners being Mr Rohit and Mohammed Adil. The third rank went to Miss Sapna, a student of the Methodist Girls’ Degree College, Roorkee.

The second and third part of the function was occupied by dance competitions.  The dance performances ranged over genre and style, often bringing to life the memories of a bygone era. The dance performances were adjudged by Dr Amita Srivastav and Dr Manoj Sarkar.

The solo dance competition occupied the second part of the proceedings. The audience was treated to the performances by 25 participants. The first prize went to the students from the Methodist Girls’ College, Roorkee, namely Runi, Shobha, Anjali, Vineeta and Alisha. The second spot was captured by Pramod Singh from the Himalayan Institute of Technology, Dehradun.

The group dance was next in line where more than 30 teams participated. The first prize went to Runi, Shobha, Anjali, Vineeta and Alisha who are students of the Methodist Girls’ College, Roorkee. The second prize was won by Priyanka and Anjali from the Phonics Group of Institutions.

A singing competition was held next. The show was judged by Vishal Saini and Divyam Gupta. More than 20 competitors enthralled the audiences with their voice. Mr Tushar from BSM College Roorkee, captivated the judged with his art to carry the first prize. The second prize went to Rahul Sharma from BSM College, Roorkee. Himansu Saini, a Quantum student, stood third in the competition.

The event concluded with a fashion show. The show was adjudged by winners of the MS & MR Uttarakhand- Mr Yash, Mr Abhishek and Ms Shefali.  The theme of the show was inspired by the traditional dresses of the bride and the bridegroom from different states and communities in India. Zakir Hussein, a Quantum student, was declared Mr Fashion. The title of Ms Fashion went to Garima Pundir from the Methodist Girls’ College, Roorkee.

The different winners were awarded with memorabilia. All the participants of the various events were felicitated with certificates.

The grand event came to a close with an address by Prof Rohit Kushwaha. Prof Kushwaha thanked the participants and the organizing team for the success of the event. He congratulated the students and wished them a glorious future. He added that such events will continue at Quantum so that the students get ample opportunity to polish their talent and personality.
